Some thoughts from our volunteers, Elliott and Sarah
Dear Friends,
We believe that God is in the mountain moving business. Often it doesn’t feel that way. Sometimes He moves mountains quickly like volcanoes erupting, or through a great revival, but we often find that God chooses to move mountains differently. The mountains of endemic poverty and reaching unreached peoples can seem insurmountable, as if they will never move. It is not until we look back, that it becomes apparent that the mountain has moved. Little by little, rock by rock, over many years, these mountains have moved and are still moving.
God moves through faithful prayers, giving, work, partnerships, and service. When We Love Kids first started working with the Stieng in Cambodia, a highly educated person was someone who made it to 6th or 7th grade. In 2024 We Love Kids saw our first high school graduate from the Stieng people group. This year, there were four, and one of them, Vichet, has started attending university!
“Jesus said to them, 'for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.' " Matthew 17:20
Vichet will be the first person in the Cambodian Stieng people group to go to school at a university. He graduated from high school as an A student! Vichet has even taught himself how to speak English through YouTube. He will be staying in a Christian dormitory where his faith in Christ will continue being encouraged as he studies for his college degree. Pray for him as he gets his degree that the Lord will use him to reach his people.
